Workforce Training Services (formally known as Clowney Youth Training Programme) is one of Belfast’s longest established training and employment providers. Originally based at the Peter Pan Complex on the Springfield Road, the organisation now provides training at one other location: Employment Route 1 on the Antrim Road . Workforce offers employment opportunities through a number of training initiatives.

Workforce Training Services Ltd, is an organisation with charitable status, we have been training young people in West Belfast since 1978. The company originally operated as Clowney Youth Training Programme and later amalgamated with Fallswater and Scala Youth Training Programmes to become one organisation.

Workforce Training Services provides a variety of training packages, in which we aim to ensure quality training, leading to Nationally, recognised vocational qualifications. We currently offer programmes for school leavers under the Training for Success programmes and Modern Apprenticeship programmes. We also deliver programmes for women returning to work via T.W.N. and programmes such as Proteus under the Peace and Reconciliation funding along with specialist programmes for young people with severe learning difficulties and behavioural problems.

We have the experience and expertise as a training and employment provider to assist school leavers and the unemployed make the move into the world of work. Our dedicated and fully qualified staff along with our proven track record of providing quality job placements is the right combination in leading you to full time employment and recognised qualifications.

Workforce currently have over 350 clients who are trained in a wide range of areas by a dedicated, caring and qualified, professional staff.

Workforce is a Recognised Training Provider designated by the Department For Employment and Learning.

Workforce also holds the Investors in People Quality Award and has won a number of National and Regional Training awards over the years.

As with any training programme the measure of its effectiveness is its success in helping young people secure full time employment. This is an area where Workforce has the edge over many of its competitors. As one of the community’s longest established training providers the company has forged strong links with employers over the years. As a result, the organisation has a proven track record of finding school leavers quality work placements that often lead to full time employment.

The training available includes such diverse areas as motor vehicle, painting & decorating, childcare, catering, construction, business administration, media studies and many more.
